If you are ill whilst away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from Chorlton Family Practice for up to 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient. We will only offer this service to you if are a -
- family member of a registered patient living in an address within the Practice boundaries
- we have an emergency appointment slot available to see you
For everyone else needing either urgent or emergency treatment we recommend either the local walk in centres based at Trafford General Hospital, Hawthorn Walk in Centre or the Manchester Royal Infirmary (next to A&E) or ring 111.
You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to return to your permenant GP or register as a permenant patient with the new practice.
You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.
