After nearly 30 years at Princess Road Surgery Dr Michael Unwin will be leaving at the end of the year.
“I will be leaving with a tinge of sadness and will miss many aspects of working at the surgery. Princess Road Surgery has been associated with my family for over 60 years (many of you still remember my father and mother, both of whom worked here before me, and Dr Louise is still continuing as the senior doctor) and one of the aspects I will miss most is the friendly, family atmosphere that has been a feature of the practice during my time. Although I still enjoy seeing patients, the burden of all the NHS red tape and regulations, coupled with the ever increasing demands of working in the NHS, makes me feel it is time to move on. I leave the surgery in very capable hands and I know that Dr Louise and the rest of the doctors, nurses and staff will continue to work hard to provide an excellent service to all our patients. I am not retiring completely as I will still be working at the Manchester Medical School helping to train our doctors of the future.”
